SV Equalities & Additional Intervention

/  SV Equalities & Additional Intervention

SV Academy believes in promoting equal opportunities and providing additional support to all students to achieve their full potential, regardless of their background, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any disability they may have.

To ensure that all students receive the support they need, SV Academy provides additional intervention and support services to students who require it. This includes support with academic studies, emotional and social wellbeing, and pastoral care.

SV Academy is committed to treating all students with respect, providing a safe and inclusive environment, and promoting an atmosphere of diversity and tolerance. Any discriminatory behavior or harassment is not tolerated and will be addressed immediately.

SV Academy believes that every student has the potential to succeed and provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment to help them achieve their goals.

Additional Intervention

SV Academy is committed to ensuring that all students receive the support they need to achieve their full potential, regardless of any additional needs they may have. To achieve this, we offer a range of additional interventions that are tailored to the individual needs of each student.

Our additional interventions include:

  1. Special Educational Needs (SEN) support: We have a dedicated SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) who works with students, parents/carers and teachers to identify and provide support for students with SEN.

  2. English as an Additional Language (EAL) support: We provide additional support for students who are learning English as an additional language, to help them to develop their language skills and access the curriculum.

  3. Gifted and Talented (G&T) support: We identify students who are gifted and talented in specific areas and provide additional support and opportunities to help them to excel.

  4. Behavioural and emotional support: We have a dedicated pastoral team who provide support for students who are experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties, to help them to overcome these challenges and achieve their full potential.

We believe that every student has the right to an education that meets their individual needs and enables them to reach their full potential. By providing additional interventions that are tailored to the needs of each student, we aim to ensure that all of our students are able to achieve academic success and personal growth.

Inclusion is about equal opportunities for all learners, whatever their age, gender, demographic group, ethnicity, additional needs, attainment, or background.  We pay particular attention to the provision for and the achievement of different groups of learners:

  • Students from families that are financially disadvantaged (PP – Pupil Premium)
  • Students who arrive with below nationally expected ability in any area (LAS)
  • Students from minority faiths, ethnicities, travellers, asylum seekers, refugees
  • Students who have English as an additional language (EAL)
  • Students who have Special Educational Needs or a Disability (SEND)
  • Students who are Gifted and Talented (G&T)
  • Students who are Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Young carers, sick children, or children from families under stress
