Why do we do Work Experience?

Work experience is a valuable opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience and insight into the world of work. It allows students to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in school in a practical setting, while also developing new skills and knowledge relevant to their chosen field. Work experience can help students to make informed decisions about their future careers and can also provide them with valuable contacts and references for future job opportunities. Additionally, work experience can improve students’ confidence, communication skills, and overall employability, making them more attractive to potential employers.

What is Work Experience?

Work experience is a form of experiential learning that allows students to gain practical work-related skills and knowledge in a professional setting. It typically involves a short-term placement or internship in a workplace or organization, during which students have the opportunity to observe and participate in real-world work activities. Work experience can help students explore different career paths, build their resume and develop important employability skills such as communication, teamwork, time management and problem-solving. It is often required by schools and colleges as part of their curriculum, and can also be pursued independently by students seeking to enhance their professional development.
